Low interest rates, steady job growth, plentiful credit and immigration continue to fuel strong demand and even bidding wars on well-presented listings. Those trends, among others, made 2014 another good year for housing in most provinces and metropolitan areas, including in Saskatchewan. Some concerns over a possible soft-landing persist, but the data doesn't yet bear that out.

New Listings in Saskatoon Areas 1–5 were up 2.4 percent to 339. Firm Sales increased 17.5 percent to 215. Inventory grew 11.9 percent to 1,169 units.

Firm sales in Saskatchewan have risen in year-over-year comparisons for every month so far in 2014 except July. Predictably, then, the median sales price has risen for every month so far in 2014 except August. Inventory levels are rising
modestly, empowering motivated buyers with even more options. Expect continued stability in terms of sales and prices, weather-permitting.

New Listings in Saskatoon Areas 1–5 were up 26.8 percent to 601. Firm Sales increased 0.7 percent to 293. Inventory grew 19.7 percent to 1,448 units.
